A special Web site has been created to encourage migration to eastern Taiwan and to promote (lifestyles of health and sustainability) (LOHAS) and recreation and health care service development in the region. LOHAS is the abbreviation for lifestyles of health and sustainability. It is a demographic, referring to a more environmental and sustainable lifestyle. The term was first used in a book by Paul Ray, an American sociologist, called ‘The cultural Creatives: How 50 Million People are Changing the World,’ published in 1998.3
